Laundry Room
Chestnut Hills, Toronto
We wanted to build the family a a full laundry room, with a sink and surfaces for folding clothes and ironing. We used a herringbone pattern for the backsplash. Custom-made cabinets were installed, and we opted for a cost-effective countertop solution from IKEA, which was cut to size by our carpenters. For the colour scheme, we chose a combination of cool blues, whites, and a deep, rich blue, which added a sense of tranquility to the space. Overall, the homeowners were thrilled with the finished product and the practicality it brings to their daily lives.
In keeping with the rest of the home, we carefully selected white knobs for the cabinets in our laundry room. The contrast between the white knobs and the rich, dark cabinet colour creates a striking visual impact. We opted for a chrome faucet to match the kitchen faucets and pot-filler. The sink we chose is a deep farmer style offering yet another dimension and character to the complete design of the home.
When designing the layout of the home, we made a decision to place the laundry room adjacent to the nanny's room. This made for an efficient workflow and ensures that the laundry room was tucked away from the main living and entertainment areas. Each space serving its purpose without compromising on style or practicality.
